Great Lakes Christian College, popularly referred to as GLCC, was originally founded in 1949 as the Great Lakes Bible College. Ralph R. Woodard was the first President. During its first year, the college enrolled 12 students in its location near Vestaburg, Michigan. It moved to its present location in Delta Township, Michigan, in 1972 and was renamed Great Lakes Christian College in 1992. Since 2003, the college has been a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The sprawling campus covers more than 45 acres.
Great Lakes Christian College offers a number of associate’s and bachelor’s degree programs. Students can choose from courses in Christian education, interpersonal and organizational communication, history, social science, cross-cultural ministry, youth ministry, and bible/ theology.
Great Lakes Christian College's athletics department is a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association. The students participate in a variety of sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, and baseball.
