Greenville College

Greenville College, established in 1855 as Almira College, was given its present name in 1892. It is a private, non-profit, four-year College of liberal arts located in Greenville, Illinois. It was an all-female Baptist School which is now affiliated with the Free Methodist Church. The existence of the college was a step forward in the woman’s suffrage and liberation movement.

Greenville College offers under-graduate and graduate programs. The most popular courses include music, education and teaching, and business and management. The other departments include communication, biology, management, philosophy and religion.

Greenville College engages in various sports such as basketball, baseball, soccer and volleyball. They also have two clubs – cheerleading and the dance team. The teams compete in the NCAA, division III as well as the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). The college is also affiliated with the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
