Overview

Guilford College was established in 1837 by the Religious Society of Friends. At that time, it was named the New Garden Boarding School. Later, in 1888, it was renamed to Guilford College. The college campus covers approximately 340 acres in Greensboro, North Carolina, United States. Guilford offers a wide variety of degrees and certificate programs in diverse areas of study. Some of the college's academic departments include computing and information technology, foreign languages, and business management.

Guilford supports numerous student organizations and clubs such as the Blacks Unifying Society, Economic Advancement Club, Archery Club, Guilford Peace Society, Forensic Biology/Criminal Justice Club, International Club, Guilford Christian Fellowship, and Psychology Club.

Guilford is a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and takes part in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III. They are called the Quaker.
