Overview

Gulf Coast Community College was established in 1957. It was the first college to begin operations after a statewide network of colleges was established by the Florida Legislature. The college moved to its permanent campus in 1960.

Gulf Coast Community College is a coeducational institution that offers associate degrees to its students. Apart from its main location in Panama, Florida, it has education centers in Franklin, North Bay and Tyndall. Some of the well known alumni of this college include former NBA basketball player Tony Dawson, former Major League Basketball infielder Frank Menechino, and actor and stuntman Michael Papajohn.
