Overview

Hampden-Sydney College is a liberal arts college for men located in Hampden-Sydney, Virginia. The college was founded in 1775 and is now the oldest private charter in the South and the 10th oldest institution of higher education in the United States. H-SC is spread across a land area of around 1,200 acres. The college offers majors and minors in several subjects including biology, chemistry, economics, government and foreign affairs and mathematics and computer science.

H-SC has a very active Greek life. Kappa Sigma, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Phi Gamma Delta and Kappa Alpha Order Sigma Nu are some of the Greek organizations on campus. The College Republicans, the Madisonian Society and the Society for the Preservation are some of the clubs operated by the students.
