Overview

Hampton University was established on April 1, 1868, in Hampton, Virginia. It was initially founded as the Hampton Normal and Agricultural Institute. It became the Hampton Institute in 1930 and Hampton University in 1984.

Students at HU can choose from over 50 bachelor degree programs, 20 master degree programs and several other doctoral or professional degrees in various areas of study. Hampton University has 6 schools under it:
