Harrisburg Area Community College was established in 1964 as the first community college in Pennsylvania. The college has four major campuses at Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Lancaster and Lebanon. The central campus in Harrisburg sits on 200 acres of land. The college was officially named Harrisburg Area Community College on January 30, 2008.
The college offers a range of student organizations and clubs that revolve around recreation, sports, academics and politics. The schools fields teams in basketball, volleyball and soccer, which participate in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference.
