Overview

Haywood Community College, also known as HCC, is located in Clyde, North Carolina, United States. It was founded in August 1965 and was named Haywood Industrial Education Center. The college enrolled 39 students in its first year. Presently, it enrolls more than 2,700 students and offers over 50 degrees and certificate programs. The college sits upon more than 80 acres of lush landscape in Clyde.

HCC supports several student organizations. Some of these include the Criminal Justice Club, Outdoor Club, Future Cosmetologists Association, Volunteer Club, Medical Assisting club, Phi Theta Kappa, National Vocational Honor Society, Student Builders Trade Association, and Horticulture Club.

HCC participates in various sports including men’s and women’s basketball, softball, and volleyball. The mascot of the sports teams is known as the Wolves. The college's basic colors are indigo and platinum.
