Overview

Hazard Community and Technical College, also nicknamed as HCTC, was established in 1968 and is located in Hazard, Kentucky. It is a two-year, public college and has several campuses, centers and branches including the Lees College Campus (Jackson), Hazard Campus and Technical Campus (Hazard), the Leslie County Center, and the Knott County Branch. HCTC was originally created as Hazard Community College in 1968 and was given its present name in 2003.

HCTC has an active student life and it is home to a variety of clubs and organizations. Some of them are the Commuter and Non-Traditional Student Organization (CANSO), Humans Helping Humans (H3), and the Philosophy Club. The college hosts several Greek chapter which include various fraternity and sorority chapters such as Phi Beta Lambda and Phi Theta Kappa.
