The Hebrew Theological College, also known as HTC or ‘Beit HaMidrash LaTorah’, is a private institute of higher education located in Skokie, Illinois. It was chartered in 1922 as one of the first Jewish institutions of higher education in the U.S. The college offers degrees and programs in diverse areas of study, including accounting, business, computer science, psychology and pre-med. HTC is organized into the following academic divisions:
- Bressler School of Advanced Hebrew Studies
- Kanter School of Liberal Arts and Sciences
Some of the notable alumni of the school are David Applebaum, ex-chief of Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center; Berel Wein, an American-born Orthodox rabbi and writer; and Rabbi Dr. Moses, renowned American Orthodox Jewish Rabbi and community leader.
