Overview
High Point University is a privately-run, liberal arts university located in High Point, California. It was originally founded under the name of High Point College in 1924 as a joint venture between the citizens of High Point and the Methodist Protestant Church. On October 9, 1991, the name was changed to High Point University. The university campus spreads across more than 130 acres of suburban land. The institution grants admission to more than 3,000 students every year.

The campus of High Point University is home to a number of Greek-letter organizations incuding Delta Sigma Phi, Pi Kappa Alpha, Lambda Chi Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, and Zeta Phi Beta. The university's athletic teams are known as the Panthers, and the official mascot is Prowler the Panther. The varsity teams participate in cross country, baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, and golf.
