Overview

Hollins University was established in 1842 as the Valley Union Seminary. The name was changed to Hollins University in 1998. It is a private four-year institution located in Roanoke, Virginia. The campus is spread across an area of over 470 acres. It offers a number of degrees in diverse fields of study. Hollins University also provides opportunities to study abroad. Student enrollment includes a substantial number of international students.

Hollins University is home to a number of student-run clubs and organizations, including the Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance, Alpha Psi Omega, the Global Interest Association, Hollins Community Garden and the Spiritual and Religious Life Association.
