Overview
Huston-Tillotson University, HT, traces its roots to the Tillotson College, and the Samuel Huston College. Tillotson College was originally established as the Tillotson Collegiate and Normal Institute in 1877, while Samuel Huston College was founded in 1900. These two institutes merged on October 24, 1952 to create Huston-Tillotson College. On February 28, 2005, it was renamed Huston-Tillotson University. The campus of HT is located in Austin, Texas.
Huston-Tillotson University offers a number of degree programs in the fields of humanities, fine arts, natural sciences, teacher education, kinesiology, mathematics, social and behavioral sciences, business, and technology. HT is organized into the following 2 academic divisions:
