Overview

Idaho State University, also known as ISU, is a public university located in Idaho, United States. The main campus is situated in Pocatello. This Carnegie-classified doctoral research institution was founded in 1901. ISU offers various degrees and certificates in more than 280 programs of study. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:

Idaho State University fields various men’s and women’s sports teams. They are nicknamed the Bengals. They compete in the NCAA Division I (I-AA for football) Big Sky Conference. ISU has won various championships including the NCAA Division I-AA national championship in football (1981), and the NCAA national championships in boxing (1953 and 1957).
