Illinois Central College, also referred to as ICC, was founded in 1966. The college is part of the Illinois Community College District. In addition to its main campus in East Peoria, ICC also has a downtown campus, which is on Adams Street in Peoria, and a North campus also in Peoria. The college offers a large number of associate degrees and certificate programs and is organized into the following academic departments:

ICC includes more than 40 student clubs and organizations. Some of these are the American Institute of Architecture Students, Clinical Lab Technicians, Horticulture Club, Radiography Club, Student Paralegal Association, Sigma Kappa Delta, Lambda Beta, Student Occupational Therapy Association, and Phi Theta Kappa.
