Overview

Independence Community College was established as the Independence Community Junior College in 1925. Initially, the college’s campus was a part of the Independence Senior High School. In 1967, it separated from the school district and moved to a 68-acre campus in 1970. This campus is situated in Independence, Kansas.

Independence Community College offers a large number of associate’s degrees and certificate programs. Students can choose from courses in accounting, biology, business administration, athletics training, art, engineering, computer science, early childhood education, English, mathematics, music, sociology, theater and web design and development.

The Student Senate, ICC Ambassador, Phi Theta Kappa, Delta Psi Omega, Accent on Art Club, the Multi-Cultured Student Organization, thr International Club, CMENC and the Society of Collegiate Journalists are some of the student clubs and organizations operating on campus. The sports teams of the college are known as the Pirates and participate in football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball and golf.
