Overview

Indian River State College, or IRSC, is a state college located in Fort Pierce, Florida, United States. It was established in 1959 as Indian River Junior College. The college was renamed to Indian River Community College in 1970. On July 1, 2008, the college’s name was changed to Indian River State College by the board of trustees. The campus is spread across an area of more than 80 acres. The college also has branch campuses in Okeechobee, St. Lucie West, Stuart, and Vero Beach areas.

IRSC offers a wide variety of educational programs including technical certificates and applied technology diplomas. The college is also home to the Clark Advanced Learning Center, a technology-based high school, which began as a joint venture between the Martin County School District and IRSC.

IRSC fields various athletic teams which participate in a variety of sports. Their sports teams are nicknamed the Pioneers.
