Established in 1961, J.F Drake State Technical College is a public institution of higher education that enables the students to pursue technical and vocational courses. The college is a member of Alabama College System. Located in Huntsville, the campus is spread across an area of 30 acres. The college offers degrees including associate’s of applied technology, diplomas and certificates.

J F Drake State Technical College is home to several student organizations including Student Government Association, Phi Beta Lambda Business Fraternity, Skills USA, VOL-ATECH volunteer Organization, and National Technical-Honor society. Additionally, there are student services offered including career guidance, counseling, tutoring, job placement assistance and academic advising. The student body of the college includes an impressive number of international students.
