Jacksonville University

Jacksonville University, also referred to as JU, is located in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. The university was established in the year 1934 and was then known as William J. Porter University. It gained university status in the year 1956. The campus spreads over an area of more than 190 acres. Students are offered degree programs areas such as nursing, business administration, and science. JU has the following degree-granting colleges under it:

Jacksonville University is home to various Greek fraternities and sororities including Phi Delta Theta, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Gamma Phi Beta, Alpha Epsilon Phi and Delta Sigma Theta. Students also participate in sports such as football, soccer, and track and field.

Housing and Meals

Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 19 meals weekly.

Athletics

School sports include football (Pioneer Football League), basketball (Atlantic Sun Conference), baseball (Atlantic Sun Conference), and track (Atlantic Sun Conference).

The school offers financial aid for athletes. Of students receiving athletic financial aid, 83 male students received the aid (men were 47% of those receiving aid) and 94 women were awarded financial aid based on athletics (representing 53% of students receiving such aid) .
