Overview

Jefferson State Community College is a two-year community college located in Birmingham, Alabama. It is a member of the Alabama College System and was established in 1965. Jeff State offers over 120 university transfer programs and 20 career programs, with numerous options and several certificate programs. The college also hosts a career center, workforce training center and a call center training cell.

Jeff State has an active student life with numerous student clubs and organizations on campus. Some of them are the Diamond Dolls Club, HPR Majors Club and Phi Theta Kappa. WJSR radio is the student-run radio station of the college.
