Overview

John F. Kennedy University, also referred to as JFKU, has a main campus located in Pleasant Hill, California, United States. The school also has satellite campuses in California in Berkeley, Campbell, and Costa Mesa (starting 2010), and community counseling centers in Sunnyvale, and Pleasant Hill. It was established in 1964 in Martinez, California, following the assassination of the US's 35th president, John F. Kennedy. It was founded after a small group of educators in the San Francisco Bay area met to discuss how they could bring reality to Kennedy's ideals and honor his memory. In its first year, the university enrolled approximately 50 students and since then has grown to serving nearly 2000 students.
