John Tyler Community College

John Tyler Community College was established in 1967. It is a 2-year, public, community college that was named in honor of President John Tyler. JTCC is one of the 23 schools under the Virginia Community College System. Apart from its main campus in Chester, Virginia, the college also operates another campus in Midlothian, Virginia.

JTCC offers 2-year associate degrees, certificates and career studies certificate programs in various areas of study. It has the following academic divisions under it:

  • Division of Professional and Technical Studies
  • Division of Distance Education and Extended Learning

A variety of clubs and organizations are sponsored by the college, including Art club, Phi Theta Kappa, Multicultural Student Association, the Future Teachers club, Human Services club, Nursing Students’ Association, Disciples of Christ, The Elements Of Life club and Chess club, among others.
