Overview

John Wood Community College, also known as JWCC, began offering classes in the year 1975. This college was named after John Wood, a pioneer who worked for the development and settlement of West Central Illionois. Students are offered degrees and certificate programs in the fields of communication, culinary arts, engineering, nursing, and office technology, among others. The college also offers online courses for its students.

There are several student clubs and organizations at John Wood Community College including the JWCC Christian Fellowship, Multicultural Student Organization, Phi Theta Kappa, Student Government Association (SGA), and Horticulture Club. The JWCC men participate in sports such as basketball, baseball and golf, and the JWCC women participate in basketball, softball, and volleyball.
