Overview

Johnson & Wales University, also known as JWU or J&W, is a private, nonprofit, coeducational, career-oriented university located in Providence, Rhode Island, United States. It is home to JWU's main and largest operating campus in the United States. JWU was originally founded in 1914 as a business school by Gertrude I. Johnson and Mary T. Wales. The university is known as "America's Career University". It has campuses in four locations and is organized into the following academic divisions:

  • College of Business
  • College of Culinary Arts
  • The Hospitality College

In addition to the academic buildings, the university’s campus comprises of three hotels. These are used as practicum education facilities for the school's Hotel Management, food service management, and culinary arts degree programs. It is also home to a Wildcat center, which is the athletic facility of Johnson & Wales University in Denver.
