Overview

Johnson & Wales University, also known as JWU, is a coeducational, career-oriented university which was established as a business school in 1914. It has acquired a reputation as “America’s Career University.” The Florida campus of JWU is currently spread over an area of 25 acres and is steadily expanding. JWU has students from about 50 states and over 40 countries which results in a lively, multi-cultural environment. Like the other campuses of JWU, the Florida campus has the following three primary academic divisions:

  • College of Business
  • College of Culinary Arts
  • Hospitality College

Students are required to complete three courses in career management before they graduate. These courses include Introduction to Career Planning, Career Management, and Career Management Capstone. The North Miami campus of Johnson & Wales University has 25 organizations and clubs including fraternities and sororities.
