Overview

Johnston Community College, also known as JCC, was founded in 1969. It is a public college, situated in Smithfield, North Carolina. The main campus covers more than 170 acres. JCC operates a number of off-campus centers including the Cleveland Center, the Workforce Development Center, and the Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center. It is a two-year post-secondary college, offering associate’s degrees, several programs and certificate courses in several areas of study.

JCC is home to various student clubs, based on varied interests in Cosmetology, Advertising and Graphic Design, and Greenhouse and Grounds Maintenance. It has an active Greek life and some of the fraternities and sororities are Phi Beta Lamdba business fraternity and Phi Theta Kappa.
