Overview
Kaskaskia College, established in 1940, is the oldest community college located in Illinois. It was established under the Junior College Act of 1965 and it serves roughly 11,000 students every year. The main campus covers nearly 200 acres near Centralia.
The college offers Associate of General Studies, Associate of Science, Associate of Arts, and eighteen vocational associate degree programs. Apart from these, it also provides forty-two vocational certificate programs. The school has extension centers all over the district, with education centers in:
- Greenville
- Nashville
- Salem
- Trenton
- Vandalia
Kaskaskia College is home to several students clubs and organizations which include the Administration of Justice Club, the Auto Collision Technology Club, Automotive Technology Club and the Child Care Student Organization. The college participates in a wide variety of sports such as baseball, basketball, golf and soccer.
