Overview
Kentucky State University, also known as KSU, is a historically black university located in Frankfort, Kentucky, United States. It was established in 1886, and its former name was the State Normal School for Colored Persons. It became a university in the year 1972. KSU offers degrees to students through three colleges, which are:
- College of Arts, Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies
- College of Mathematics, Sciences, Technology and Health
- College of Professional Studies
The students of KSU have access to many Greek fraternities and sororities. These include Alpha Phi Alpha, Phi Beta Sigma, Delta Sigma Theta, Kappa Kappa Psi, and Zeta Phi Beta. The men’s sports teams of KSU participate in basketball, baseball, football, cross country, golf tennis and track. The women sports teams participate in softball, volleyball, tennis, basketball, and cross country.
