L E Fletcher Technical Community College

L. E. Fletcher Technical Community College, also known as FTCC, is located in Houma, Louisiana, United States. It was founded in 1948 as the South Louisiana Trade School. The first classes were held in July 1951. The school's first director was Harrell P. Willis. In its first year, the school enrolled 883 students. It became South Louisiana Vocational-Technical School in 1977 and South Louisiana Regional Technical Institute in 1990. After a few more name changes, the college adopted its present name on July 1, 2003. FTCC is made up of the following academic units:

  • General Education Division
  • Marine Division
  • Nursing and Allied Health Division
  • Technical Education Division

FTCC offers a number of scholarship programs such as the Colin Black-Cumins Marine Diesel Technology Scholarship, Bayou Industrial Group, Inc. (BIG) Scholarships, South Central Industrial Association Vocational Technical Scholarship, and The Foundation Scholarship.
