Overview
La Salle University was founded in 1863 by the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. It was named after St. Jean-Baptiste de la Salle. The university's campus sits upon 130 acres in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It also operates a satellite campus and a Conference Center in Newtown, Pennsylvania. It enrolled more than 7,500 students in 2008. La Salle grants degrees in bachelors, masters and doctorate levels. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:

La Salle includes several organizations and clubs that are maintained and run by the students.
