Overview

The Laguna College of Art and Design, commonly known as LCAD, is located in Laguna Beach, California. This private, four-year college was established in 1961. The institute initially conferred only bachelor’s degrees, but in 2006 it opened a master’s program of fine arts. Students at LCAD can opt for a number of courses, like painting and drawing, illustration, animation and graphic design, to name a few. In 2006, it collaborated with the Florence Academy of Art, in Florence, Italy, to offer its students an opportunity to take summer classes in Florence. The campus is spread across an area of 4 acres.

The Laguna College of Art and Design offers financial aid in the form of federal grants, loans and scholarships. For recreational activities, the institute organizes community breakfasts, luncheons and even a bonfire at Aliso Creek Beach. LCAD also provides academic and personal counseling to its students.
