Lake City Community College

Lake City Community College, also known as LCCC, was established as Columbia Forestry School in 1947, and was referred to as the "Forestry Capitol of the World." LCCC came under the management of the University of Florida in 1950 and was renamed University of Florida Forest Ranger School. The college joined the newly created 28 state community college network in 1962 and was named Lake City Junior College and Forest Ranger School. It adopted the present name in 1970.

At present, Lake City Community College’s main campus occupies an area of 132 acres. It offers a diverse range of academic programs through the following academic departments:

LCCC operates three satellite campuses in Cross City, Macclenny, and Bell which are in surrounding counties. At these centers, the local residents can take distance learning courses, attend live classes, or communicate with advisors through the internet.
