Lancaster Theological Seminary is a private institute located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The seminary was founded in 1825 to provide theological education to church leaders and prospective clergy. The members of German Reformed Church were the founders of this seminary. Originally, it was opened in Carlisle, Pennsylvania; it moved to Mercersburg, Pennsylvania in the early 1840s. Lancaster Theological Seminary relocated to its present location in 1871 and the buildings were completed in 1894. The name of the institute is abbreviated as LTS. The seminary offers Master of Divinity, Doctor of Ministry, Master of Arts in Religion, and Certificate of Lay Leadership.
The campus life of Lancaster Theological Seminary offers a wide variety of experiences. The seminary encourages the students to organize a number of social events. The LTS Allies helps the students to develop leadership qualities and organizes the annual LGBT Week.
