Langston University, also known as LU, is an institution of higher learning located in Langston, Oklahoma, United States. It was originally established as the Oklahoma Colored Agricultural and Normal University in 1897. The university is named after John Mercer Langston, a civil rights pioneer. LU offers associate, bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees in diverse areas of study. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:

Housing and MealsLangston provides on-campus housing for 1,495 of its 2,482 (full-time) students (as of 2007). The school requires freshmen to live on campus. Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 19 meals weekly.
Langston AthleticsSchool sports include football (Central States Football League), basketball (Red River Athletic Conference), baseball (), and track (Red River Athletic Conference). Langston offers financial aid for athletes. Of students receiving athletic financial aid, 125 male students received the aid (men were 81% of those receiving aid) and 30 women were awarded financial aid based on athletics (representing 19% of students receiving such aid) .
