Overview

Laredo Community College, also known as LCC, was founded on September 28, 1947, as Laredo Junior College. The college was established by the Laredo Independent School District. In 1993, LCC adopted its current name. The college's campus spreads over 300 acres at the historic Fort McIntosh located in Laredo, Texas. The main campus is also known as Fort McIntosh Campus. The college also has a South Campus located at 5500 South Zapata Highway.

Some of the academic units of LCC are computer information systems, health sciences division, social and behavioral sciences, and arts and humanities. Students can apply for various LCC Scholarships and Community Scholarships offered by external organizations, foundations, clubs, and individuals.

The student organizations of LCC include the Choral/Vocal Club, Criminal Justice Club, Future Teachers Association of Laredo Community College, Learning in Action Club, Nuestras Raices Club de Espanol, Phi Theta Kappa Society, and many more.
