Overview

Lawrence University was founded in 1847 by William Harkness Sampson. The university is a private institution of liberal arts and is located in Appleton, Wisconsin. It was the second co-educational college in the United States. The campus of Lawrence University encompasses 425 acres of land. The student body has a significant enrollment of students from over 45 states in the U.S and international students representing more than 50 countries around the world.

Lawrence University maintains an active student life and is home to several student run clubs and organizations. Some of these are Boosting Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students, also known as BACCHUS, Biofuels at Lawrence University, Black Organization of Students, and Electronic Music Club among others.
