Lexington Theological Seminary, LTS, is a not-for-profit, private institute in Lexington, Kentucky. The seminary's history traces its roots back to 1836, when the Department of Hebrew Literature at Beacon College was founded. After the expansion of the department in 1858, Lexington Theological Seminary was officially established in 1865, as the College of the Bible.
The highest level of degree offered by Lexington Theological Seminary is a doctorate degree. Academic programs are offered in pastoral studies, divinity, and Christian ministry. The courses consist of moral theology, basic knowledge of scripture, sacramental traditions, and contemporary Biblical scholarship.
Lexington Theological Seminary is a member of the Theological Education Association of Mid-America. Students are offered financial assistance in the form of loans and grants, as well as scholarships.
