Overview

Limestone College was established in 1845 and is situated in Gaffney, South Carolina, United States. The college was set up by Dr. Thomas Curtis and his son, Dr. William Curtis, both eminent scholars born in England. It was recognized as the first women's college in South Carolina and became fully educational in 1960.

The programs offered by the college lead to Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Social Work, and Associate of Science degrees. Limestone College offers more than 15 majors in 4 different divisions of study:

Limestone College hosts numerous clubs and organizations for the overall development of its students. Some of these are the Criminal Justice Student Organization, Student Organization of Social Workers, Limestone Outdoor Recreation and Education, and Athletic Training Student Organization.

The students of Limestone College participate in various honor societies including Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society, Teacher Education Committee, and Student Organization of Social Workers.
