Overview

Lincoln Memorial University, popularly referred to as LMU, is located in Harrogate, Tennessee, United Staes. It was established in 1897. This private, four-year, liberal arts institute has a 1,000 acre campus and offers enrollment to more than 3,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. LMU offers various undergraduate majors, graduate and professional programs, and doctoral degrees in subjects such as business administration, education, nursing, medical sciences, osteopathic medicine, art, music, and wildlife and fisheries management.

Lincoln Memorial University supports a large number of student organizations on campus. Among the Greek organizations are fraternities such as Alpha Lambda Zeta, Gamma Lambda Sigmon, and Sigma Pi Beta, and sororities including Delta Theta Sigma, Kappa Pi Omega, and Zeta Tau Kappa. There are also several honor societies including Alpha Chi, Alpha Gamma Sigma Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta-English Honorary Society, Phi Alpha-Social Work Honorary Society, and Psi Chi-Psychology National Honor Society. LMU also sponsors sports teams in basketball, golf, soccer, cross country, softball, tennis, volleyball, and baseball. The teams are nicknamed the Railsplitters and the Lady Railsplitters.
