Overview

Los Angeles City College, also known as LACC, is a public, community college in the Hollywood section of Los Angeles, California. It was originally founded as Los Angeles Junior College on September 9, 1929, by the Los Angeles Board of Education. The Board of Education changed the name to Los Angeles City College in 1931. LACC is the flagship of the Los Angeles Community College District.

The campus of LACC is one of the most diverse in the nation. It boasts a significant representation from students of all ethnic backgrounds. The campus is set on an attractive 49 acres of land. The college offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study.

Facilities at LACC include a library, computer labs, fitness centers, theatre, and TV/ film studios. There are various clubs and organizations in the college including IYF (International Youth Fellowship), Environmental Club, Armenian Student Association, and Latino Student Union (LSU) to name a few.
