Overview

Los Angeles Valley College, also known as LAVC or simply Valley, is a community college located in the Valley Glen district of Los Angeles, California, United States. It was founded on September 12, 1949. The campus is situated in the east-central San Fernando Valley and spreads across an area of over 100 acres. It is part of the Los Angeles Community College District.

LAVC offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study. The student body comprises an impressive number of international students. There are various clubs and organizations that offer several facilities for foreign students.

Many students of LAVC have gone on to become famous including Micky Dolenz, actor/musician/drummer of The Monkees; Tom Selleck, professional film actor; Sean Astin, of the Lord of the Rings fame; and Daniel Wayne Smith, actor.
