Overview

Louisiana State University at Alexandria, also referred to as LSUA, is located in Louisiana, United States. It was established in the year 1959 after being authorized by the Louisiana Legislature. Students are offered degrees and certificate programs in various areas study including communications, business administration, elementary education, and nursing. The university has two degree granting colleges, which are:

  • College of Arts and Sciences
  • College of Professional Studies

LSUA offers students the opportunity to join various student clubs and organizations. Among those available on campus are societies such as the Arts Students Association, Catholic Student Organization, College Republicans, Kappa Sigma, and Student Government Association. Students can also participate in sports such as baseball and softball. The students of LSUA publish a newspaper called "The Sentry" and a literary magazine called "Jongleur."
