Overview

Louisiana Tech University is a coeducational, public institution of higher learning located in Ruston, Louisiana, United States. It enrolls more than 10,000 students every year from over 45 states and more than 65 countries. It was established as the Industrial Institute and College of Louisiana in 1894. It gained the status of university in 1970.

In addition to the main campus, Louisiana Tech operates a satellite campus at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City. It offers an array of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:

Louisiana Tech has an active Greek life. There are also several on-campus student clubs and organizations imcluding the Circle K International and Habitat for Humanity. The university’s sports teams are nicknamed the Tech Bulldogs and Lady Techsters.

Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Western Athletic Conference for major sports.
