Overview

Loyola Marymount University, or LMU, is a comprehensive, coeducational, private, Roman Catholic, Jesuit university located in Los Angeles, California, United States. LMU is one of 28 member institutions of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities and one of five Marymount institutions of higher education. The university was founded in 1973 by the merger of Marymount College and Loyola University in Los Angeles. The main campus is spread across an area of 150 acres. LMU is organized into the following schools and colleges:

There are many student-run clubs and organizations on campus. LMU has an active Greek life. Some of the fraternities and sororities on campus are Alpha Delta Gamma, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Delta Gamma, and Sigma Gamma Rho.
