Luzerne County Community College

Luzerne County Community College was established in 1967. The fist classes were held on October 2, 1967, when 836 students attended LCCC. The main campus encompasses more than 160 acres in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. Apart from its main campus, the college also has over 10 satellite campuses throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. This two-year, comprehensive community college enrolled more than 6,000 students in the fall of 2007. LCCC offers more than 100 academic degrees and certificate programs to its students.

LCCC has a variety of on campus students clubs and organizations, including the Criminal Justice Association, Adult Learners Association, Dental Assisting Club, Ambassador Club, History Club, Architecture Club, Pastry Club, Ski Club, Phi Theta Kappa, Sigma Kappa Delta, Mobile Electronics Club, Wrestling Club, Psi Beta and Alpha Sigma Lambda.

The athletics department of LCCC sponsors several men's and women's sports teams, including cross country, basketball, golf, volleyball, baseball, softball and basketball squads. They compete in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference and are members of the Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association.
