Maharishi University of Management, also known as MUM, was founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1971. MUM was formerly known as Maharishi International University. This institution is located in Fairfield, Iowa. Prior to its relocation in 1974, the campus was located in Santa Barbara. MUM's recent enrollments have been more than 1,000 students at its 272-acre campus. The university offers bachelor, master’s and Ph.D. degrees in management, vedic science, teaching, business, literature, art and design, physics, sustainable living, accounting and many other fields.
The Global Student Council at MUM gives students opportunity to work with organizations at national and international levels. They also get to develop interpersonal and leadership skills. Jennie Rothenberg and Ronald J. D. Parker are among the notable alumni of MUM.
