Overview

Maria College of Albany is a two-year college in Albany, New York that was established as a Sister Formation and liberal arts institute by the Religious Sisters of Mercy in 1958. It started with a student body of fifty two. The administration building was erected in 1959. The college offers degrees which include the Associate in Applied Science, the Associate in Arts, and the Associate in Science. It also provides certificate programs in teaching assistance, practical nursing, paralegal, gerontology, and bereavement studies.

Maria College of Albany offers career and academic guidance to students. The college library has roughly 59,000 books, 20 newspapers and 225 periodicals.

The college provides scholarships to students on the basis of academic achievement and/or financial need including the Allied Health Scholarships, the Caron Family Scholarships, the Capital District Association Education Scholarship, the Guido Scholarships, and the Kelley Memorial Scholarship.
