The Maria College of Albany, New York is a two year private college founded in 1958 by the Sisters of Mercy. It specializes in health care courses. Originally a women’s college, it became co-educational in 1971. The campus school which provides Early Childhood Education degree program was established in 1967. The college also introduced flexible course schedules such as the Evening Division in 1971 and the Weekend College providing associate’s degree in 1981.
Maria College, Albany offers the students with certificate courses such as gerontology, paralegal studies, bereavement studies, teaching assistant and nurse studies. The college also offers associate’s degrees in a wide range of subjects including computer information systems, accounting, occupational therapy assistant, paralegal, business and nursing. Maria College provides an extensive library resource service for the students, a bookstore and counseling facility as well.
