Overview
Marymount University is a coeducational, four-year Catholic university located in Arlington, Virginia, United States. It was originally founded in 1950 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary as Marymount College. It gained university status in 1986. The main campus is spread across an area of more than 20 acres. Marymount grants associate, bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees in diverse areas of study. It also offers several undergraduate and graduate certifications and pre-professional programs in teaching, law, medicine and physical therapy. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:

The University hosts more than 30 different clubs and student organizations. Marymount has several sports teams which compete in the NCAA Division III in the Conference.
