The Massachusetts Maritime Academy is a regionally accredited, co-educational college located in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. It was founded on June 11, 1891. MMA offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in maritime-related fields, including marine transportation, marine engineering, marine safety & environmental protection and environmental engineering. In addition, the academy also offers professional and continuing education programs.
The Bacchus Club, the Scuba Club, the Writing Club, the Rugby Club and Pershing Rifles are some of the student-run clubs operated on campus. The campus is also home to a gymnasium, an aquaculture laboratory and other marine facilities.
