Mayville State University was established in 1889 as the Mayville Normal School. Located in Mayville, North Dakota, MaSU is under the North Dakota University System. The university has a sprawling 301-acre campus, and offers enrollment to more than 500 students every year.

Mayville State University has major and minor programs of study in the fields of biology, health, physical education and recreation, business, chemistry, history, computer information systems, early childhood, mathematics, library media and information science, psychology, science, education, English, social science, geography and sociology.
